Sara's Customized Tress Bridal Feather, Swarovski Crystal & Silk Headpiece & Birdcage Veil

December 28, 2010

We have been working on a customized Tress bridal headpiece for Sara. It is time to share feedback photos with her before finalizing her design. I thought some of you might enjoy seeing the results of our work with Sara!

Sara has chosen the lovely strapless, silk chiffon Grecian-style gown in light ivory/silk white with princess neckline and champagne satin sash shown below.

Sara wanted several changes to the Tress design, which included customized dying of the silk organza & velvet pressed flower, the design of a pearl & Swarovski crystal accent, and the addition of taller stripped coque feathers. She has chosen the 12" French veiling birdcage in ivory, mounted on a separate comb. This will allow her to remove the veiling during the reception.

We have used a few shades of feathers to add interest to her design and created a dramatic accent of antique silver filigree elements, large pointed-back Swarovski crystals, and cultured pearls. The crystal accent is pinned in place in a few of the photos below, as we want to make sure that Sara is happy with the outcome before permanently mounting it in place. I was just thinking how lovely a matching accent (with or without feathers) would look on the left side of the empire, satin sash of her gown and will share that idea with her.

We will eagerly await her feedback!

Best,

Melanie's Custom Bridal Design. . .

July 20, 2010

Melanie of Long Island, New York will be marrying her love soon wearing the Mercadal design - 2010 Pronovias Couture Gown Collection - Barcelona. Melanie originally wanted a bridal hat with veiling to complement this gorgeous gown, but after some productive brainstorming she chose a somewhat less structured design with an element of "fun" reflected in a colorful spray of peacock feathers and swords.

The silk satin and organza cluster of flowers on Melanie's headpiece is made from the same design that embellishes the lower hip on the left side of the gown. It has been accented with Swarovski crystals and pearls to bring out the accents embedded deep within the flowers. India Blue and Natural White peacock eye and sword feathers add a splash of color, and white hackles form a spray at the base of this feather complement. Melanie will be wearing a Breeziway open-sweep birdcage veil made of fine French silk veiling with a dramatically-large diamond pattern. The veiling is detachable, so she will have the option of wearing the headpiece alone during the reception.

We wish Melanie and her man the wedding and marriage of their dreams
and look forward to seeing photos of her ensemble with excited anticipation.

We know that she will be a stunning & happy bride!

Samantha's Pageant Design. . .

July 17, 2010

A Breeziway friend will be participating in a pageant next month. Samantha is wearing the gorgeous yellow and white Mac Duggal couture gown shown below. We couldn't let her go without a Breeziway design to complement her style, so the custom look below will be sent her way in time for this upcoming event!

We made a large bright yellow cabbage rose of silk and embellished it with wisps of coquile feathers dyed a light yellow with citrine Swarovski crystals to add some sparkle. An ostrich feather tip, ostrich fronds, and a bright yellow marabou add texture and softness. I wish the photos did the shading more justice.

Best wishes for the upcoming pageant, Samantha.
We are eager to see photos of our design with your Mac Duggal gown!

Hugs,

Anita's Bridal Headpiece. . .

June 3, 2010

A West Bloomfield, (local) bride will be wearing a customized Breeziway design in a few weeks. Why not share her feedback photos with you?! Anita liked the silk white, champagne, and coral flower in our studio. The coral of this flower will complement the guava color of her bridesmaids' gowns. We added a halo of stripped coque and swirls of coquile and schlappen feathers to soften and heighten her piece and a cluster of Swarovski crystals. All of this is mounted on a silk taffeta, covered buckram base. Anita chose a detachable birdcage veil made of French silk, large diamond veiling.

We are thrilled to be able to top-off the silk taffeta custom gown that Anita will be wearing, designed by Katerina Bocci.

Best of wishes for your upcoming wedding day, Anita!

I look forward to seeing photos of you in your Bocci gown.

Anita's Classic Roses. . .

Dominique Chipot, France

Is there anything more classic than a beautiful rose? Perhaps that is why this is the choice of so many brides. We would like to introduce a new headpiece design for Spring, 2010. The Anita is made of 3, 2 inch roses handmade of ivory silk and 2, 1 inch rose buds handmade of ivory silk with coral accents. These roses are clustered into a vertical array that bends to rest comfortably along the curve of your head. It can be worn to the side or toward the top of your head, paired with any of our birdcage or traditional veils, and accented with dyed coquille feathers to coordinate with the theme of your wedding. The Anita can also hug the side of a bun or chignon on the back of your head.

The Anita is now available in our online shop; click on the 'enquire' button to share your questions.

The Anita is shown here with our open-sweep birdcage veil made of 12 inch silk French veiling. This veiling material is no longer in production and a rare and exquisite choice for the discerning bride.

We are happy to customize this design with delicate swirls of coquille feathers that are dyed to complement the color theme of your wedding. Does your gown have a sash or location along the waistline that could use an embellishment? We are happy to create a custom cluster of matching silk roses to complete your gorgeous look. The Anita shown below is highlighted with swirls of coral/guava to match the gowns of a local client's bridal attendants.

I am really happy with this new option for our Breeziway brides.
We hope you like it too!

Peaches & Pink Prom

March 26, 2010

Peach trees in blossom are one of my fondest childhood memories of spring. The color combination of soft peach with highlights of bright and rich pink in the design below was inspired by this warm memory. A soft silk rose in peach and cream, accented with dyed pink emu and curled biot feathers is mounted on a straw base in our Peaches & Cream design. . . now available in our online shop.

Peaches

A mouthful of language to swallow:
stretches of beach, sweet clinches,
breaches in walls, bleached branches;
britches hauled over haunches;
hunches leeches, wrenched teachers.

What English can do: ransack
the warmth that chuckles beneath
fuzzed surfaces, smooth velvet
richness, splashy juices.
I beseech you, peach,
clench me into the sweetness
of your reaches.

Be well!
