Bridal Hair Showcase

June 17, 2012

This is the second year I have had the opportunity and pleasure to work with Chryso D'Angelo, writer and editor for the nationwide magazines of Harris Publications, Inc. One of Chryso's publications is Celebrity Hairstyles, which produces an annual bridal hairstyle magazine focused on bridal inspiration. This year's 2012 annual edition Bridal Star Hairstyles, was available at the news stands May - June. It is an excellent source of ideas for that very important task of crowning your wedding ensembles with the perfect hairstyles and accessories. If you are unable to pick up this year's edition at your local store, it is still available via eBay. I really urge you to get this excellent reference. You won't regret it! It is a visual feast of creative ideas to stimulate your visions.

We were honored to be able to collaborate with the excellent talent of stylists at Diana Folino-Ujkaj's Runway Salon and Spa in Shelby Township, MI and photographer extraordinaire, Meghan Martini-Shkolnik, of DSP Fotographie based in Detroit, MI. Below is our feature on customized infusion of color.

And here a photo of Meghan's own wedding in October of 2011. Her glamorous hairstyle by Runway Salon and Spa, complemented with our Swarovski crystal Vivian skullcap.

Here's to great success in achieving your own crowing glory!

Kentucky Derby Museum Hat Competition - 2012

June 5, 2012

It was a pleasure to work on this year's hat submission for the annual Kentucky Derby Museum competition. I am calling 'her' Fuchsia Filly Folly. The design employs one of my favorite color combinations, fuchsia and navy blue. It is made of swirling pleated crin, two types of vintage silk veiling, sword and eye feathers from the rare purple peacock, and a Swarovski crystal pick. I thought some of you might enjoy the pictures below. All it needs is a lovely filly in a classy navy sheath!

As always, I look forward to seeing what my colleagues have created for this special tradition!
