Danica's Custom Carolina - Passionate Red & Burgundy

June 1, 2011

Life has been busy, busy, busy. . . I am sorry to have neglected my sharing and figured it was time to get an entry ready.

It has been a pleasure to work with Danica as she prepares for her mid-June wedding in Connecticut. This has been no easy feat for her as she and her honey have been in Saudia Arabia - where they met in 2008. Their engagement began in 2010 on a beach in Sri Lanka. No moss grows on this pair, so it is no surprise that their wedding will be a zesty expression of their love of life and adventure.

Danica and Matt will hold a garden wedding at his family's summer cottage on the Atlantic in Niantic, Connecticut. Danica will wear the sassy tea-length gown below to be accented with red and burgundy. Her shoes and jewelry will be topped-off with a custom design in red and burgundy, inspired by the Carolina, paired with a crystal accented birdcage veil. The happy couple have asked their guests to wear a dash of red (or more) to keep the passionate theme in full- force.

The following photos of Danica's headpiece were sent to her today for feedback. We will then make any adjustments and finish the design to have it shipped to her in time for her stylist appointment.

It will be a day of love and fun for this happy couple, their family & friends! We wish them the very best on their wedding day & a lifetime of adventure.

Best,

Melanie's Custom Bridal Design. . .

July 20, 2010

Melanie of Long Island, New York will be marrying her love soon wearing the Mercadal design - 2010 Pronovias Couture Gown Collection - Barcelona. Melanie originally wanted a bridal hat with veiling to complement this gorgeous gown, but after some productive brainstorming she chose a somewhat less structured design with an element of "fun" reflected in a colorful spray of peacock feathers and swords.

The silk satin and organza cluster of flowers on Melanie's headpiece is made from the same design that embellishes the lower hip on the left side of the gown. It has been accented with Swarovski crystals and pearls to bring out the accents embedded deep within the flowers. India Blue and Natural White peacock eye and sword feathers add a splash of color, and white hackles form a spray at the base of this feather complement. Melanie will be wearing a Breeziway open-sweep birdcage veil made of fine French silk veiling with a dramatically-large diamond pattern. The veiling is detachable, so she will have the option of wearing the headpiece alone during the reception.

We wish Melanie and her man the wedding and marriage of their dreams
and look forward to seeing photos of her ensemble with excited anticipation.

We know that she will be a stunning & happy bride!

Customized Natasha for Allison

July 17, 2010

We were happy to be able to create Allison's vision for her bridal headpiece and veil. Using our Natasha as a basis for the design, more India blue peacock eyes were added along with ivory accents to complement her ivory English birdcage veil and gown. Pretty. . .

Peacock feathers have been popular this season.

We have gorgeous feathers from 8 different breeds of peacocks;
something to complement any color theme.

Let us know if you would like to see some of these options. . .

Amy and Travis' Wedding Day. . .

July 15, 2010

The very best of moments at Breeziway happen when clients share their special days with us. Amy and Travis were married on the 19th of June in Minnesota. A beautiful tribute to the love they have for each other can be found at the blog of their wedding photographer, Sara of Studio Seven Photography. Thank you Amy and Sara for allowing us to share these remembrances with our readers!

Amy wore our Nadia, paired with a small symmetrical Russian veil. I don't know if you can see this touch well in the small photos, but Amy's hair was styled with wisps of feathers throughout her style (which we were happy to donate to the cause). What a creative and lovely idea!

A day of love and sunshine. . . Best wishes to both of you.

May you & yours share many more special moments like these!

Mary's emergency becomes our studio fun. . .

June 10, 2010

We were contacted this week by Mary. She had waited several months for her headpiece to arrive, and with only weeks to her wedding, was upset with disappointment over what was delivered. We were happy to take on the role of making the headpiece she had envisioned. It has been a rush to squeeze this in, but we are pleased to be of help. . .

Mary is wearing an ivory gown with a black sash and wanted a statement feather piece in earthy greens and black mounted on a small black birdcage veil. I don't have a photo of her gown, but the Vera Wang and Jenny Packham gowns below are lovely examples of black-accented bridal gowns.

Vera Wang

With its asymmetrical layers of Chantilly lace and swirling pleated organza, this strapless ball gown is getting dangerously close to "too much"—the crisp black organza and horsehair sash manages to reign in the frills a bit.

Jenny Packham

A beaded black lace bolero gives this fluttery silk gown an antique feel; the bow detail takes the look to somewhere between sweet and sexy.

Mary's bridal piece was modeled after our Shelly. We used a kilt green dye to create more earthy green tones and added several exotic feather-types including emu and black elements to increase the texture and pop of her design.

We hope Mary is both relieved and
back to good cheer when she sees these feedback photos!

Anita's Bridal Headpiece. . .

June 3, 2010

A West Bloomfield, (local) bride will be wearing a customized Breeziway design in a few weeks. Why not share her feedback photos with you?! Anita liked the silk white, champagne, and coral flower in our studio. The coral of this flower will complement the guava color of her bridesmaids' gowns. We added a halo of stripped coque and swirls of coquile and schlappen feathers to soften and heighten her piece and a cluster of Swarovski crystals. All of this is mounted on a silk taffeta, covered buckram base. Anita chose a detachable birdcage veil made of French silk, large diamond veiling.

We are thrilled to be able to top-off the silk taffeta custom gown that Anita will be wearing, designed by Katerina Bocci.

Best of wishes for your upcoming wedding day, Anita!

I look forward to seeing photos of you in your Bocci gown.
