Tika Designs Captured by Hillebrand Photography for Wedding Style & Inside Weddings Magazines

January 11, 2011

It is such a pleasure to be touched by the talents of local artists. Our friend & amazing designer, Katerina Bocci, recently contracted a local photographer for a photo shoot of some of the gowns in her 2011 Bridal Collection. Selections from this shoot are featured in the current issues of Grace Ormonde's Wedding Style and Inside Wedding magazines. We were honored to be able to contribute several headpieces that were designed specifically for Katerina's gowns, so the photos also feature our Tika headpiece.

The prodigious photos below were created by Gabe and Jennifer Hillebrand of Hillebrand Photography. Their techniques captured the lovely, levitated model in mid-movement, so we experience the lightness of being that characterizes even the grandest of Katerina's ball gown designs, the Tika. I love the fluid expression of her designs. Can you imagine how you would look on your wedding day in this marvelous creation?

What is she contemplating?!

Oh, so demure. . . .

These and other photos from this shoot are available at the Hillebrand blog. They are definitely work looking at. . . as are the portfolios at the website link above.

Here's hoping that life brings you many moments of levity. . . .

Best,

Katerina Bocci New York Wedding Trendspot Bridal Show - 2010

October 19, 2010

I am still dizzy with visions of the whirlwind of activity at the New York International Bridal Week this past weekend. There is so much to share when time allows. I am grateful to the talented and gracious Katerina Bocci for the opportunities that she has provided through our collaborations. The beauty and grace of the gowns in her 2011 Bridal Collection are beyond words; I will let them 'speak' for themselves via the visual media below.

The Katerina Bocci runway show was started with the "Cinderella" gown. Katerina's lovely model is wearing Breeziway's new crystal skull cap, the "Vivian"; available for purchase soon.

The "Grace" gown is topped-off with Breeziway's top-hat, now available exclusively via the KB studio. Thanks to my talented intern, Mercedes Williams, for her creative contributions to the design and creation of the "Grace" top-hat! Other Breeziway top-hats were introduced at the market and will be available via the Breeziway online shop and boutique affiliates in the near future.

The "Juliane" gown is accessorized with a new Swarovski crystal Breeziway sweep comb and birdcage veil, which is available exclusively via the KB studio.

The "Krystal" gown is accessorized below with the Breeziway bridal hat of the same name. This elegant hat is available exclusively via the KB studio.

The "Mariah" gown is accented with the new Breeziway crystal headband, "Victoria", which will be available via the Breeziway online shop and boutique affiliates soon.

Finally, the "Tika" gown is shown below with a Breeziway design inspired by this dreamy confection of blush peach silk taffeta and crystals. The Tika headpiece is made of dyed and cut nagoire and white peacock swallow feathers, accented with a chunky cluster of Swarovski crystals and is available exclusively via the KB studio.

Thank you Katerina, for the opportunity to work with you. . . and Joanne Darga, for your enduring friendship and support. I could not have negotiated the weekend's many twists and turns without your help.

It was a pleasure to meet those of you who stopped by the Breeziway booth at the New York International Bridal Week Show to view our designs and discuss future possibilities. We look forward to growing relations with each of you and hope the seeds planted will blossom into productive and beautiful creative ventures!

As always, my best wishes,

Melanie's Custom Bridal Design. . .

July 20, 2010

Melanie of Long Island, New York will be marrying her love soon wearing the Mercadal design - 2010 Pronovias Couture Gown Collection - Barcelona. Melanie originally wanted a bridal hat with veiling to complement this gorgeous gown, but after some productive brainstorming she chose a somewhat less structured design with an element of "fun" reflected in a colorful spray of peacock feathers and swords.

The silk satin and organza cluster of flowers on Melanie's headpiece is made from the same design that embellishes the lower hip on the left side of the gown. It has been accented with Swarovski crystals and pearls to bring out the accents embedded deep within the flowers. India Blue and Natural White peacock eye and sword feathers add a splash of color, and white hackles form a spray at the base of this feather complement. Melanie will be wearing a Breeziway open-sweep birdcage veil made of fine French silk veiling with a dramatically-large diamond pattern. The veiling is detachable, so she will have the option of wearing the headpiece alone during the reception.

We wish Melanie and her man the wedding and marriage of their dreams
and look forward to seeing photos of her ensemble with excited anticipation.

We know that she will be a stunning & happy bride!

Epilogue - Catwalk for a Cause Benefit

May 23, 2010

The schedule of this past week was busy. I am relaxing now and enjoying the time to reflect on all the fun! Thursday evening's bridal fashion show and auction, Catwalk for a Cause, was a genuine treat. Bella Rose Bridal Boutique of Shelby Township, MI sponsored this event to benefit Macomb County's Care House, Child Advocacy Program, but I am happy to share that the brides and others who attended this event at the Crank's Catering new banquet hall, Enchantment, found much to enjoy. All 4 generations of women involved in the Bella Rose experience were on hand; with the hard work and expertise of Michelle and Brittany of Bella Rose evident in every magical touch of the evening!

We were greeted with a delicious buffet, to satisfy the hungry appetite after a day of work and an assortment of yummy confections.

Detroit's own Gossip Girls were on hand and involved in the hosting and modeling of the benefit. Danielle and Lauren are waiting at the open bar, perhaps for the evening's signature martini, the Bridal Bliss?! . . . which was oh so pink and refreshing.

After time to enjoy food, drink, conversation, and a heart-warming introduction by Michelle and Britanny of Bella Rose, Gossip Girl Danielle and Michelle's hubby began the hour long fashion parade of a broad sampling of bridal and bridesmaids' gowns that are available at Bella Rose. Many of these gorgeous options were up for silent auction for starting bids that were truly astonishing. Local ladies with weddings in the planning really need to look for this benefit event next year. You really don't want to miss this event.

Here are some of the gowns we enjoyed on the catwalk . . . .

The following gown, modeled by Detroit Gossip Girl Veronica, was a stand-out for me. The moving vision created by the simple, yet interesting swirl of layering was stunning. . . and Veronica knew just how to work this look!

A few Breeziway headpieces were in the show, like the Tress & Beyonce as shown in the two photos below. These are available at the Bella Rose Bridal Boutique. Thank you, Michelle and Britanny, for including them in the show. It is always a thrill for me to see our designs on such lovely women.

The finale of the show featured several designs from the "Something Blue" collection of local designer, Ariel Jennifer Taub. Lovely. . .

I look forward to this benefit event next year. . . Class act from beginning to end!
